Food writer and stylist
Cook, food writer and stylist Jane Rangiwahia lives in Auckland, New Zealand for what she says 'seems like forever'. Growing up in Hawera, Taranaki her food journey started early as the eldest of five and only daughter, learning to cook from her mum who taught her well, and who is also a fantastic cook herself.
Jane's approach to food is much like herself, warm and down to earth. With her easy, accessible and elegant way, she aims through her cooking to warm hearts and souls.
Her food journey escalated a few years ago when she met the iconic Kiwi Celebrity Cook Jo Seagar. Jo encouraged Jane to take her skills and make them marketable. She taught Jane about food styling with her first project being one of Jo’s cook books and from there Jane hasn’t looked back. She has continued to help Jo on some of her projects, worked on TV shows as a food stylist and also been in front of the camera featuring as a guest cook on the hugely successful Whānau Living. Jane also had a column for Woman’s Day NZ sharing Kiwi inspired recipes.
A few years back Jane meet Simon Gault (ex Master Chef Judge and Celebrity Chef), Jane has worked closely with Simon on his Herald on Sunday columns and his latest book “Summer with Simon Gault”.
Jane’s food philosophy is to use the best ingredients available to make uncomplicated, healthy and delicious food.
