Jane Rangiwahia lives in Auckland, New Zealand. Growing up in Hawera, Taranaki her food journey started early as the eldest of five and only daughter, learning to cook from her mum who taught her well, and who is also a fantastic cook herself.

Jane's approach to food is much like herself, warm and down to earth. With her easy, accessible and elegant way, she aims through her cooking to warm hearts and souls.

Her food journey escalated a few years ago when she met the iconic Kiwi Celebrity Cook Jo Seagar. Jo encouraged Jane to take her skills and make them marketable. Jo taught Jane about food styling with her first project being one of Jo’s cook books and from there Jane hasn’t looked back.

Jane has worked on TV shows as a food stylist been in front of the camera featuring as a guest cook on the hugely successful Whānau Living and also had a column for Woman’s Day NZ sharing Kiwi inspired recipes. Jane met Simon Gault (ex Master Chef Judge and Celebrity Chef), and worked closely with Simon on his Herald on Sunday columns and his book 'Summer with Simon Gault'.

Jane has worked on the last two series of the popular TV One show 'Eat Well For Less' as the Food Producer. In 2023 she started community cooking classes for Communities Feeding Communities in Roskill South, creating and teaching recipes using the ingredients from the social supermarket and the community garden.

Jane and her younger brother Paul have just published their first book 'Kai and Kindness'. Their aim is to help start conversations about health and emotional wellbeing and promote positive action – whether it is in the kitchen or in the mind.

Jane’s food philosophy is to use the best ingredients available to make uncomplicated, healthy and delicious food.
